FIRst Step

A useful first look without the document dump.

FIRst Step is the lowest-friction entry point into owner advisory. It uses a limited set of owner inputs to provide useful perspective on what deserves attention and what questions may be worth exploring next, without asking ownership to assemble a full package before the conversation begins.

When it can help

Useful when the owner wants perspective without a full review.

The point is to create value early, with less friction, before ownership decides whether deeper work is warranted.

Early question

Something is changing, but the question is not fully formed.

A decision may be taking shape around operations, timing, reinvestment, succession, buyer interest, or another pressure point, but ownership is not ready for a full review.

Low friction

The owner does not want to assemble a package just to start.

FIRst Step is intentionally built around limited owner input so a useful first conversation does not begin with financial statements, folders, and a long document request.

Perspective

A useful outside read before deciding what comes next.

The first value is helping ownership recognize what deserves attention and whether another step would materially improve the decision.

What FIRst Step does

Starts with less. Still gives the owner something useful.

FIRst Step uses the least amount of owner information in the advisory process. The goal is not completeness. It is to identify the most important signals, clarify the question taking shape, and help ownership decide whether anything else deserves attention.

What it is not

FIRst Step is not a valuation, appraisal, BOV, full diagnostic, or listing commitment. It is not designed to produce a value conclusion. Deeper analysis, including any value work, requires a separate scope and a different level of information.
